About The Position

We are looking for a Part Time Job Coach, 20-30 hours a week, to assist our clients with finding, mastering and keeping jobs in the community. Come Achieve With Us! Reports to: Supported Employment Director Supervises: n/a NATURE OF WORK An employee in this position provides support to individuals with disabilities who are in the various stages of training for, procuring and maintaining community employment. A wide variety of tasks are performed to support the individual as each situation is very specific to the Individual Support Plan. The work is performed under the supervision of the Asst. Resource Director and the Resource Director.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with individuals with Disabilities
  • Effective written and Oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of the organization and its community.
  • Skill necessary to operate common office machines.
  • Skill to make learning aids/assistive technology which will strengthen employment outcomes.
  • A valid Florida Drivers license
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, bloodborne pathogens
  • Three references of recommendation for position
  • Ability to apply impartially and consistently proper methods of recognition and reward
  • Ability to solve independently most minor problems.
  • Ability to follow minimally detailed written and oral instructions without constant supervision.
  • Ability to record and store data accurately.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of individual record/ information
  • A Bachelors degree from an accredited College
  • Pass a Level 2 background check
  • Reliable transportation and clear driving record
  • 2 year degree from a Community College and 2 years of experience in this field
  • Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position

Responsibilities

  • Provides individualized instruction.
  • Demonstrates various instructional activities.
  • Monitors work assigned by employer.
  • Checks and corrects work while in progress.
  • Keeps individual on task.
  • Praises and reinforces achievements
  • Reports progress to Asst. Director and Coordinators.
  • Assess and assists in making modifications and accommodations to ensure individual success.
  • Attends workshops.
  • Checks and reports attendance.
  • Enters data in health record.
  • Monitors/Records behavior.
  • Files data and documentation according to regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes self esteem.
  • Assists individuals in learning citizenship, social skills and respect for others.
  • Understands and practices the Participants Bill of Rights
  • Coordinates transportation to employment sites.
