About The Position

GDI provides facility maintenance services in the United States and Canada. The Janitorial Supervisor oversees, trains, and directs on-site janitorial staff to help keep employees safe and ensure customer quality expectations are met or exceeded. The role includes supervising daily work, managing staffing and employee matters, maintaining timekeeping and payroll documentation, inspecting the jobsite, responding to customer concerns, and enforcing safety procedures. The supervisor also uses floor-cleaning equipment as needed, maintains cleaning-supply inventory, and completes required training.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of janitorial supervisory experience.
Automotive plant experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

Supervise and train janitorial staff working in the building.
Designate shift and area work assignments.
Address employee relations or performance issues promptly and appropriately, and document and report them to management or HR.
Review employee timekeeping for compliance with timekeeping rules and complete payroll documents to ensure employees are paid correctly.
Inspect the jobsite regularly for quality concerns or project work, and complete and submit inspection reports.
Identify and communicate the need for special project work to management.
Use floor-cleaning equipment as needed, including a buffer, walk-behind equipment, and spot-carpet cleaner.
Maintain cleaning-supplies inventory.
Respond promptly and appropriately to customer concerns or complaints.
Enforce safety policies and procedures and immediately report and investigate accidents.
Complete required training courses.
