About The Position

A Janitor is responsible for keeping the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected. The role involves cleaning building interiors and work areas, maintaining restrooms and supplies, and following safety procedures. The position requires availability for an 8-hour shift and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, electrical-shock hazards, and vibration. Requirements

Consistently attend work and arrive on time.

Observe safety and security procedures, identify appropriate action beyond guidelines, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Be available for an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Clean building interiors, including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and other areas.
Vacuum, sweep, and mop offices, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairs, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture.
Keep furniture, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings free of dust.
Empty and clean trash cans and ashtrays.
Disinfect commonly used items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies in restrooms and other required areas.
Wash and clean windows and mirrors.
Empty trash and recycling containers and take them to the disposal area.
Clean trash and snow from sidewalks when necessary.
Maintain cleaning-supply inventory and request missing materials from supervisors when applicable.
Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or conditions requiring maintenance.
Maintain a cleaning chart indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected.
Follow safety and precaution rules.
Close doors at the end of the night shift.
