About The Position

The Janitor cleans and maintains factory work areas, washrooms, offices, apartment buildings, commercial premises, and other establishments. Duties include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, and buffing floors; removing trash and refuse; dusting and vacuuming equipment, furniture, fixtures, and traffic areas; cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and other surfaces; replenishing supplies; and providing minor maintenance services. The position also includes high and low cleaning and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Follow MSDS guidelines when using chemicals.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Clean and sanitize toilets, urinals, sinks, and restrooms.
• Sweep and damp mop floors with disinfectant cleaner; mop spills as needed.
• Refill paper and soap dispensers.
• Clean mirrors with glass cleaner and spot-clean walls to remove stains or prints.
• Buff floors to remove scuff marks; strip and wax floors; top scrub and repeat if needed.
• High-dust areas above 70 inches, including air ducts, and clean air ducts.
• Vacuum traffic and office areas; dust and vacuum waiting chairs.
• Clean and disinfect sinks and water coolers.
• Clean and sanitize microwave ovens and refrigerators.
• Clean and wipe vending machines.
• Perform high and low cleaning and other duties as assigned.
