About The Position

The Janitor maintains clean, serviceable linens and supports residents’ laundry needs. Duties include collecting, processing, and delivering residents’ clothing and linens; maintaining laundry supplies; and operating laundry equipment safely. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and regularly sits, stands, walks, talks, reads, or hears. Frequent use of industrial washers, dryers, and related laundry or housekeeping equipment is required. The work environment’s noise level is usually low to moderate. Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an adequate supply of clean linen for residents’ care and comfort.
• Keep linen in good repair and remove items with holes or stains from service.
• Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
• Label new residents’ clothing items as needed.
• Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry items to residents’ rooms.
• Follow sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
• Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies.
• Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
• Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
