About The Position

The Janitor helps ensure the mall is clean and ready for opening and remains clean at closing. Duties include maintaining sidewalks and walkways, removing garbage and litter, cleaning floors and other surfaces, and keeping washrooms clean and stocked. The role uses cleaning supplies and equipment and involves handling hazardous materials and blood-borne pathogens according to applicable regulations. The listed schedule is a 7 a.m. morning opening shift, including weekends. Compensation is up to USD 16.48 per hour.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment.
• Familiarity with proper use of cleaning chemicals in compliance with regulations.
• Understanding of hazardous materials and blood-borne pathogen disposal procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the mall is ready for opening and cleaned at closing time.
• Keep sidewalks free of garbage.
• Blow leaves and power-wash areas.
• Remove garbage from waste containers throughout the mall and clean up litter on walkways.
• Use proper cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and blood-borne pathogens according to state and federal regulations.
• Perform other janitorial duties as required.
• Sweep and mop floors and clean walls and windows.
• Maintain washroom cleanliness, including hourly checks and restocking supplies.
