About The Position

The Janitor maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment to support a positive experience for guests and team members. The role performs routine cleaning and upkeep across the showroom, restrooms, offices, warehouse, breakrooms, and exterior areas, including parking lots. Work must align with Living Spaces safety standards and operational procedures to maintain a clean, well-maintained, guest-ready store environment. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of retail experience in a custodial or janitorial role. Commercial facilities or building janitorial experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. The position has no supervisory responsibilities and does not require certificates or licenses. The hiring pay range is $17.40–$22.60. Eligible, non-exempt team members may receive overtime pay. Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center team members are eligible for a team bonus based on specific goals and KPIs. Benefits are available subject to eligibility requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
At least one year of retail experience in a custodial or janitorial role.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily walkthroughs of the entire store to identify and address cleanliness, safety, and maintenance concerns in alignment with standard work.
Maintain cleanliness across the showroom, restrooms, offices, warehouse, breakrooms, and exterior areas, including parking lots.
Operate cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers and vacuums, to clean and maintain tile, carpet, and common areas daily.
Clean, sanitize, dust, and wipe down surfaces and high-touch areas throughout the store in accordance with cleaning and safety standards.
Partner with Operations and store teams to keep the showroom clean and guest-ready during business hours.
Monitor and track cleaning supply inventory, conduct routine stock checks, and notify leadership of replenishment needs.
Follow safety protocols and operational procedures, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Perform additional custodial and cleaning tasks as assigned to support daily store operations.
