About The Position

Independent Management Services is seeking a Janitor for its Midview Crossing apartment community in Elyria, Ohio. The role supports the upkeep, cleanliness, and security of residential and office buildings and the surrounding property. Duties include routine inspections, cleaning common areas and apartments for occupancy, grounds work, minor repairs, and securing the building after office hours. The position reports directly to the Site Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize projects and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated record of reliable attendance and reporting to work on time.
• Basic knowledge of commercial or small grounds equipment and supplies.
• Attention to detail and working knowledge of residential cleaning supplies and practices.
• Adherence to Federal Fair Housing Laws.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ongoing maintenance education and training.
• Conduct daily inspections of residential and office buildings.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Clean and stock restrooms.
• Collect and dispose of trash inside the building and around the property.
• Perform minor repairs and grounds work, including weeding, planting, and watering flowers.
• Clean apartments to prepare them for occupancy.
• Ensure the building is locked and secure after office hours.
