About The Position

The IT Support Intern provides technical support for Canterbury Park employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, and system-related issues. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day IT operations, maintaining end-user workstations and peripherals, configuring systems and applications, and ensuring timely resolution of support requests. The IT Support Specialist works closely with the Senior IT Manager to deliver reliable technical support and a positive user experience across the organization.

Requirements

  • Acquired or pursuing an associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, desktop hardware, printers, and peripherals.
  • Experience troubleshooting software, hardware, and connectivity issues.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to support users of varying technical skill levels.
  • Canterbury Park conducts pre-employment screening for all positions which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
  • Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 software and hardware support to end users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues through hands-on desktop support, including installing, upgrading, and configuring software, systems, and applications.
  • Test and verify solutions to ensure issues have been fully resolved and perform post-resolution follow-up with users as needed.
  • Respond to user inquiries by identifying problems, researching solutions, and guiding users through corrective steps.
  • Follow up with users to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and issue resolution.
  • Set up and deploy new workstations, peripherals, and related equipment, including devices such as barcode scanners.
  • Maintain and manage IT asset inventory and tracking processes.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of software, hardware, and systems utilized at Canterbury Park.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
