About The Position

This is a summer internship opportunity with Butterball, LLC, a well-known turkey brand. The internship will take place over 10-12 weeks in Garner, NC. The primary goal of the internship is to identify a technology-based improvement opportunity within the company and manage the project plan for its implementation. This program is designed to develop future leaders by providing professional development and assignments aligned with professional interests in the processing and manufacturing industry.

Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelors in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business, Engineering or related field with an expected graduation date of December 2027 through May 2029.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work.
Ability to initiate, lead, and follow through on conversations, presentations, and training.
Comfortable with public speaking.
Balance of technical, analytical thinking as well as being personable and able to make connections to further implement change on an enterprise level.
Strong business acumen - ability to understand the impact of IT on different parts of the business.

Responsibilities

On-site process evaluation with operations groups to identify a need for technology-based improvement.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify the best possible solution to said challenge.
Submit a project proposal, build, and manage the project using our project management tool, Smartsheet.
Projects may range from digitizing current paper processes, creating SOP documents, calculating ROI for current or potential opportunities, implementing new or current software to create more efficient processes for our operations teams, as well as other projects not yet discovered.
Collaborate with multiple departments throughout Butterball, including CI, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering, Live Operations, IT, and corporate support groups.
