About The Position

Continental Resources’ Summer Internship Program offers meaningful, career-specific experiences; hands-on insight into the oil and gas industry; mentorship from experienced professionals; networking with Continental interns, interns from other companies, and experienced professionals; exposure to various departments; and an opportunity to present summer projects to professionals and management. The Information Technology Intern supports the enterprise through hands-on solution development and/or support in IT Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications, or IT Security. In addition to a summer project, the intern may work with internal customers to understand requirements, design and develop solutions, document processes, participate in project planning, troubleshoot issues, and provide end-user training and support.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university.
Working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related major.
Eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduation.
Must pass an acceptable pre-employment background check and drug test.
Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Strong customer focus and ability to work as a team player.
Effective time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

Minimum 3.0 GPA.
IT-related development or support experience.

Responsibilities

Meet with internal customers to document business and technical requirements.
Design and model solutions that meet documented requirements.
Develop task plans covering individual and external tasks needed to deliver customer solutions.
Create prototypes of proposed solutions.
Develop IT processes and operational documentation based on infrastructure and system requirements.
Participate in or lead project planning sessions.
Troubleshoot technical or business system issues and identify root causes and resolutions.
Create technical designs based on gathered requirements.
Develop system modules and solutions based on gathered requirements.
Provide end-user training and support.
Perform other duties as assigned.
