IT Desktop Support Technician
About The Position
TEKsystems is recruiting multiple IT Desktop Support Technicians to support a client’s desktop support team in Lansing, Michigan. This onsite, first-shift contract-to-hire opportunity is suitable for candidates at a range of IT support experience levels, including people looking to build on an internship or IT degree and grow their IT careers. Previous helpdesk, desktop support, or PC technician experience is preferred, and IT certifications are desirable. The technician will diagnose and resolve hardware and software incidents across Windows and Mac operating systems, deploy and re-image Windows devices, assist users with IT requests, and provide support for peripherals and applications. The role also involves documenting and tracking requests, installing and configuring equipment, troubleshooting and upgrading hardware and software, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Requirements
- Previous helpdesk, desktop support, or PC technician experience is preferred.
- IT certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems such as Windows and Mac and a range of software applications.
- Swap out laptops and desktops and deploy Windows 10/11.
- Re-image machines from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
- Assist users with logged IT-related incidents when called upon.
- Take ownership of issues, analyze problems, implement temporary or permanent fixes, and restore service as quickly as possible.
- Escalate incidents to other support teams when necessary.
- Accurately record, update, and document requests using the IT service desk system.
- Install and configure new IT equipment.
- Resolve incidents and upgrade software and hardware.
- Resolve incidents involving printers, copiers, and scanners.
- Provide efficient, appropriate, and high-quality customer service.
