2028 Investment Associate Intern - Hackathon Immersion

Bridgewater Associates Campus Recruiting•New York, NY

About The Position

Bridgewater is hiring Investment Associate Interns to contribute to the research and systematic investment process used to develop insights and generate returns in global markets. Investment Associates focus on developing and delivering alpha by understanding the drivers of economies and markets and systematizing those ideas. During the eight-week summer internship, interns receive exposure to Bridgewater’s fundamental and systematic investment process. From the first week, they form their own macroeconomic and market views and may use their intern compensation to enter positions in actual markets through Bridgewater’s Investor Track Record tool. Interns examine important dynamics in an economy and market, synthesize their views, and work with investors to translate the underlying logic into data and mathematical expressions that can be stress-tested over time. The internship also includes markets and macroeconomic training based on an abridged version of the first-year Investment Associate class, foundational frameworks, analytical methods, and some exposure to Bridgewater’s technology stack. The posting also describes an invitation-only Bridgewater Immersion AI Innovation Hackathon, scheduled for April 23–25, 2026, for students graduating in 2028 who are exploring markets, trading, or macro research. Participants work with Bridgewater investors, engineers, and Deputy Chief Investment Officer Blake Cecil to develop and defend an original concept, build agentic workflows, custom tools, and predictive systems, and demonstrate a working prototype. Bridgewater provides hotel accommodation for up to two nights and covers travel costs for the event. To be considered for the event, candidates must be interested in and apply to the Summer 2027 Investment Internship by March 25, 2026. The internship compensation is $51,000 for eight weeks, including a sign-on bonus, with housing included. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for at least three years from their start date. H-1B sponsorship and post-graduation optional practical training support are available only to candidates with a STEM degree.
