Creationary Hackathon
About The Position
The Creationary Hackathon is a program for early-career chemists interested in helping Ohr develop critical molecules. Participants choose one or more of three challenges based on problems from Ohr’s work and submit a response with an application form. Selected winners will be invited to an all-expenses-paid onsite hackathon at Ohr’s Colorado lab in early 2027 for final rounds. Ohr makes molecules including energetics, propellants, rare-earth extractants, and ignition chemicals, some of which are already in production. The program is intended for chemists finishing a BS, MS, or PhD in 2027, or who are up to three years out. Organic, inorganic, physical, materials, and chemical engineering backgrounds are welcome. Ohr offers paid internships, fellowships, and early-career full-time roles out of its Colorado lab.
Requirements
- Be finishing a degree in 2027 or be up to three years out.
- Background in chemistry or chemical engineering; organic, inorganic, physical, materials, and chemical engineering backgrounds are welcome.
- Degree may be a BS, MS, or PhD.
Responsibilities
- Choose one or more of the three challenges and develop a response.
- Submit the challenge response and complete the application form.
- Selected winners attend final rounds at an onsite hackathon at Ohr’s Colorado lab in early 2027.
