About The Position

Bridgewater’s Investment Associates are the core team responsible for developing and delivering alpha through a fundamental understanding of economies and markets and the systemization of investment ideas. The internship provides meaningful exposure to Bridgewater’s fundamental and systematic investment process. Interns form their own macroeconomic and market views, may enter positions in markets Bridgewater trades using the in-house Investor Track Record tool, synthesize their views, and work with investors to translate their logic into data and mathematical expressions that can be stress-tested through time. Interns receive markets and macroeconomic training through an abridged version of the first-year Investment Associate class. Training covers foundational frameworks, analytical methods used in research, and some exposure to Bridgewater’s technology stack. The internship is eight weeks, with total compensation of $51,000 including a sign-on bonus, plus housing. The related Macro Research in Markets Immersion is an invitation-only, full-day event in Bridgewater’s New York City office for select candidates applying to the 2027 Investment Associate Internship and graduating in 2028. The event includes discussion of Bridgewater’s investment approach, an economy case study, and opportunities to connect with recruiters, senior leaders, and investors. Bridgewater provides hotel accommodation for up to two nights and covers travel costs for the event. The internship requires eligibility to work in the United States for at least three years from the start date. H-1B sponsorship and post-graduation optional practical training support are available only to candidates with STEM degrees.
