Inventory Clerk (2nd Shift)
About The Position
The Inventory Clerk receives, inspects, documents, and stores incoming shipments, ensuring that materials and products are accurately recorded and organized according to company procedures. The role works closely with shipping, inventory, and procurement teams to support an efficient flow of goods within the warehouse. The position is based at Western Valley Meat in Fresno, California, and is full-time, with a swing shift scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Workdays are Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, depending on business needs. Travel may be up to 25%. The salary range is $17.50 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
Nice To Haves
- Previous warehouse or receiving experience.
- Forklift certification.
Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect products for damage and verify quantities and quality against packing slips.
- Record receiving data in inventory systems or ERP software.
- Tag and label products for inventory tracking.
- Communicate discrepancies or issues to vendors and the purchasing department.
- Maintain organized records of receipts, invoices, and related documentation.
- Assist with storing materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment if certified.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
- Follow company safety procedures and regulations.
