About The Position

This is a travel assignment for an Interventional Radiology Tech in Los Angeles, CA, lasting 13 weeks. The role involves operating interventional radiology equipment for cardiovascular imaging, assisting physicians with procedures, managing image acquisition, and potentially mentoring staff. The setting is home healthcare - hospice.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field preferred.
  • Radiologic Technologist (RT) license in the state of practice (CA) required.
  • ARRT certification preferred.
  • Fluoroscopy (FLUORO) competency/permit required.
  • Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification required.
  • PVMB/TEAM/CPI (or TEAM-A/CPI) required.
  • At least two years of recent experience in the radiology/interventional field.
  • Experience as a Special Procedures Technologist preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Facility-specific BLS certification required per policy.
  • Current nursing license per the state of assignment.
  • Ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice setting.
  • Available for a variable shift pattern with after-hours and limited weekend call as discussed during interview.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or related field

Responsibilities

  • Operate interventional radiology equipment to perform cardiovascular imaging, including angiograms, during cardiac catheterization to aid diagnostic evaluation and treatment.
  • Position and immobilize patients for examinations, ensuring proper alignment and comfort according to protocols.
  • Assist physicians with specialized interventional procedures and provide clinical care using strong technical and organizational skills.
  • Manage digital image acquisition and quality control, preparing and labeling images for physician review.
  • Mentor staff on technical radiologic skills and participate in team training and development as needed.
  • Provide input into staffing decisions related to hiring and promotion based on performance and competency.
