About The Position

This is a travel assignment for an Interventional Radiology Technologist in Carbondale, Illinois. The role involves performing diagnostic radiographic exams and interventional radiology procedures, utilizing PACS/EMR, maintaining radiation safety, and providing general radiography coverage when needed. The technologist will also be responsible for preparing and cleaning imaging rooms, stocking supplies, and ensuring a safe workflow. Clear communication with the radiology team, clinicians, and patients is essential, as is adherence to department policies and participation in on-call coverage.

Requirements

Active Illinois radiography license (IEMA) and ARRT Certification in Radiology
BLS certification
Associate degree in Radiologic Technology
Interventional Radiology or cath lab experience required
Minimum of 3 years radiologic technologist experience
Ability to work in a hospital setting and adapt to variable shift schedules

Nice To Haves

IR certification is not mandatory

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic radiographic exams following established protocols; utilize PACS/EMR for image capture and documentation
Conduct interventional radiology procedures per protocol; maintain IV/contrast competency and strict radiation safety practices
Provide general radiography coverage when interventional procedures are not in progress
Prepare and clean imaging rooms; inspect and stock equipment and supplies; maintain a safe and organized imaging workflow
Communicate clearly with radiology team, clinicians, and patients to ensure quality care and patient safety
Adhere to department policies and participate in on-call coverage as needed
