About The Position

This is an unpaid volunteer position where the Internship Supervisor will eventually oversee a team of Internship Coordinators in developing internship processes, procedures, and new programs. The role involves interviewing prospective interns, determining their best departmental fit, and developing learning objectives and goals with each intern. The supervisor will manage intern performance and evaluations, ensuring compliance with academic requirements, and act as a liaison between interns and ARO departments. This position also serves as a resource for interns, providing administrative support and identifying training needs. The role requires attending ARO Company Meetings and leading 1:1 meetings with interns, including team meetings as needed. This is a remote, flexible hours volunteer engagement role.

Requirements

  • Must be available to volunteer 10+ hours/week
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in developing internship processes and an internship program.
  • Supervisory experience and leading a team.
  • A true team player who loves brainstorming with others and celebrating collective wins.
  • Experience in reviewing and/or developing training content.
  • Highly proficient in English with a proven track record of clear written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • US-based or in a similar time zone nearby.
  • This role is best suited for individuals seeking a longer-term volunteer opportunity (12+ months preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of Internship Coordinators in developing internship processes, procedures, and new programs.
  • Interview prospective interns and determine the best department for them to work in.
  • Develop learning objectives and goals with each intern.
  • Manage intern performance and evaluations while ensuring compliance with all university academic requirements.
  • Reply to emails from interns' webmail box.
  • Act as a liaison between the interns and the different ARO departments they are working in.
  • Act as a resource for interns to answer any questions they have throughout their internship.
  • Collaborate with leadership, including the Global Executive Director, to ensure program compliance.
  • Identify intern training needs.
  • Provide administrative support.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Attend ARO Company Meeting the second Tuesday of each month at 12:30pm EST.
  • Lead 1:1 meetings with interns during initial training and meetings as needed thereafter to include the possibility of team meetings.
