About The Position

The candidate will be working within the PPH (Pay Per Hour) organization to analyze engine maintenance costs. The objective is to identify cost reductions opportunities, optimize engine maintenance strategies and forecast future maintenance costs.

Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Pursuing studies in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
  • The selected candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze engine maintenance costs within the PPH (Pay Per Hour) organization.
  • Identify cost reductions opportunities.
  • Optimize engine maintenance strategies.
  • Forecast future maintenance costs.
  • Challenge understanding of engineering principles in the function of a gas turbine engine.
  • Search through technical documentation to properly identify part replacement rates and cost drivers during engine maintenance events.
  • Directly support the execution of solutions to these cost drivers.
  • Explain the function of a Gas Turbine Engine.
  • Identify different engine parts and explain their relationship with the rest of the engine assembly.
  • Understand the challenges in the aftermarket.
  • Identify and explain the different engine models (e.g., Turboprops and Turbofans).
  • Understand the role of different engineering disciplines in the function of a Gas Turbine Engine.
