About The Position

CVS Health’s US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduates support pharmacy teams while completing required US internship hours and preparing for pharmacist licensure. After passing the FPGEE and TOEFL, eligible graduates apply their pharmacy-school education in real-world practice through a preceptor-directed, mixed-modality learning plan. The program includes hands-on experience, a training roadmap, Key Learning Experiences, and time with district leaders to develop pharmacy practice, patient-care, business, and leadership skills. The role supports safe, accurate, and timely prescription fulfillment and caring patient service. Interns learn pharmacy workflows and standard operating procedures while contributing to an inclusive team environment. They must complete their internship within 18 months and complete required pharmacist licensure exams and processes within 120 days after finishing internship hours. Failure to meet these requirements may result in separation of employment.

Requirements

Graduate of a non-US-accredited college or school of pharmacy before beginning the CVS US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduate Training Program.
FPGEC certification.
Obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days after completing US internship hours.
Complete required US internship hours within 18 months; failure to complete the hours or obtain pharmacist licensure as prescribed may result in separation of employment.
Possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
Customer service and team orientation, including a friendly approach and the ability to understand and respond appropriately to patients’ reactions.
Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues, including active listening.
Mathematical reasoning skills to perform calculations such as quantity to dispense and days’ supply.
Problem-resolution skills to identify challenging interactions and choose an appropriate course of action.
Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items; reach and stretch; perform repetitive finger movements; use hands and arms in multiple directions; make precise adjustments; stoop and bend; and maintain close visual acuity.
Ability to occasionally lift or exert up to 20 pounds, frequently lift or exert up to 10 pounds, and consistently move objects using negligible force.
Ability to communicate detailed spoken information accurately and receive detailed information through oral communication.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
Ability and willingness to become immunization certified and provide patient immunizations once state regulations are met.
Ability to work at the home store and across other locations in the market to meet business needs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Follow company standard operating procedures at pharmacy workstations to support pharmacists and technicians in managing and improving patient health.
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures in production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off to support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
Provide empathetic, personalized patient service at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services where appropriate; and resolve or escalate patient concerns.
Offer counseling, answer medical questions, and obtain patient medical history when appropriate under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where state regulations allow.
Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members and share best practices.
Complete basic inventory tasks as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and waiting-bin inventories.
Seek feedback and opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge, contribute to a high-performing team, and support pharmacy business outcomes.
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling voluntarily to other stores in the market to cover shifts when needed.
Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies and procedures, including requirements for patient safety, controlled-substance dispensing and recordkeeping, and patient privacy and security.
Provide additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntary offsite clinic staffing, where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification.
Where permitted, complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status and support vaccine preparation and administration.
Where permitted, educate patients about vaccines, refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist on duty, monitor and respond to adverse reactions, report adverse events as required, and collect, track, and document patient information.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and complete required training within the designated timeframe.
