About The Position

The International Pharmacy Intern is a non-US-accredited foreign pharmacy graduate who completes required U.S. internship hours under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. After passing the FPGEE and TOEFL, eligible graduates may apply to the role and complete a mixed-modality learning plan that builds on their pharmacy education. The internship must be completed within 18 months. The role develops skills in patient care, practice management, leadership, and education, and prepares the intern to complete required pharmacist licensure exams and processes within 120 days after completing the internship hours. Failure to meet the internship or licensure requirements may result in removal from the role and separation of employment. The intern helps maintain a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment and delivers patient care while supporting pharmacy operations, customer service, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, inventory, and workflow. Duties exclude final prescription verification. The intern also supports patient care programs, the pharmacy manager and support staff, and the pharmacy’s operational and performance goals. The position requires an active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located and a pharmacist degree from a non-US-accredited school of pharmacy. Pharmacist licensure in the state where the role is based is required within 120 days of completing U.S. internship hours.
