Internal Audit Work Experience Program - Internship - Corporate
About The Position
Under the direction of others, the intern gains knowledge in performing IT and compliance audits in accordance with the IIA’s International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. The role provides learning opportunities in conducting observations and walkthroughs, documenting examinations, analytical reviews, reconciliations, and other procedures. The intern develops an understanding of internal controls and their impact on related business processes. The program includes personalized learning plans aligned with participants’ goals and development opportunities in their chosen area of concentration, networking with Company leaders through Resort Knowledge Days, and exposure to one or two departments to build a cross-functional understanding of MGM Resorts’ business strategy. Participants may also engage in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, including diversity training and philanthropic events.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program at an accredited college or university and within one year of graduation.
- Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Responsibilities
- Learn to perform IT and compliance audits in accordance with professional internal auditing standards.
- Learn to conduct observations and walkthroughs, document examinations, and perform analytical reviews, reconciliations, and other audit procedures.
- Develop an understanding of internal controls and their impact on business processes.
- Participate in personalized learning plans, Resort Knowledge Days, departmental exposure, and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
