About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring an intern for its Internal Audit / Tax department at its Home Office. The paid internship program lasts 12 weeks and provides hands-on experience through meaningful projects, mentorship, professional development, networking, workshops, and opportunities to shadow roles across the organization. The intern will work alongside the Internal Audit / Tax team, which serves customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada. The department administers, calculates, and remits U.S. and Canadian income and indirect taxes, including filing returns and related forms, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, and resolving issues or answering questions from auditors, external customers, and stakeholders. It also performs risk mitigation, process improvement, assurance consulting, and internal-controls testing for North American operations, with a focus on operations. The internship includes hands-on use and development of intelligent systems, with AI treated as a core collaborator.

Requirements

Currently enrolled at a university pursuing a bachelor's degree.
Authorized to work in the United States.
GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

Work alongside the Internal Audit / Tax team.
Administer, calculate, and remit income and indirect taxes for the U.S. and Canada.
File income and indirect tax returns and related forms.
Prepare related journal entries and account reconciliations.
Resolve issues and answer questions from auditors, external customers, and stakeholders across Gordon Food Service.
Perform risk mitigation, process improvement, assurance consulting, and internal-controls testing for North American operations, with a focus on operations.
Participate in networking opportunities, mentorship, job shadowing, community and stewardship efforts, and professional development workshops.
Use and develop intelligent systems to deliver real-world business impact.
