About The Position

This is a Summer 2027 Internship opportunity in Quality Engineering at Stryker in California. The internship focuses on developing the next generation of talent by having interns contribute to meaningful projects, gain exposure to leaders, and experience a culture of innovation and teamwork. Interns will apply classroom knowledge, implement new ideas, develop skills, network with stakeholders, and document complex processes. The role is onsite and offers various specializations within Quality Engineering, including Advanced Quality (AQE), Process Quality (PQE), Supplier Quality (SQE), and general Quality.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; must remain enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the internship.
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above (verified at time of hire).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate and build relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.

  • Human factors engineering, risk management, application of statistics, reliability engineering, design verification, and design validation including customer interaction (Advanced Quality emphasis).
  • Deep dive investigations and driving collaboration and communication to achieve issue resolution (Process Quality interest).

Responsibilities

  • Perform robust root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions for non-conforming issues (Process Quality).
  • Work with a variety of tools including CAD for fixture design, root cause analysis methods, LabView, and validation activities to optimize production, inspection, and quality system processes (Process Quality).
  • Be responsible for all supplier-related activities, working closely with suppliers to ensure components and their manufacturing processes meet required standards (Supplier Quality).
  • Work closely with internal customers from multiple functions, meeting with suppliers frequently, and using both technical and business skills (Supplier Quality).
  • Ensure development and sustainment of products with the highest quality, evaluating risk, ensuring customer user needs are met, and driving craftsmanship, safety, durability, and reliability into the product (Quality).
  • Work closely with regulatory to handle complaints and implement design changes as needed to address quality issues (Quality).
