About The Position

Stryker is seeking motivated Mechanical Engineering interns for Summer 2027. This onsite internship offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, gain exposure to leaders, and experience a culture of innovation and teamwork. Interns will apply classroom knowledge, implement new ideas, develop skills, network with stakeholders, and document complex processes. The program aims to develop the next generation of talent in the life-changing medical technology industry.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; must remain enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the internship.
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above (verified at time of hire).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate and build relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.

  • Research new technologies, customer expectations, business requirements, and regulations (R&D New Product Development).
  • Work with a variety of tools, including CAD, FEA, and Test Labs to develop new product concepts (R&D New Product Development).
  • Utilize technical education to design new products and drive them from concept to production (R&D New Product Development).
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify the greatest needs for improvements on current products (Product Engineering).
  • Research new technologies, customer feedback, and product performance data to make products better (Product Engineering).
  • Work with a variety of tools, including CAD, FEA, Test Labs, and root cause analysis methods (Product Engineering).
  • Utilize technical education to improve the safety and efficacy of existing products (Product Engineering).
  • Partner closely with Test Engineers and R&D to experiment with early prototypes and vet out product designs (Test Lab).
  • Design and build fixtures to simulate real-life situations (Test Lab).
  • Be responsible for design verification – the quantitative testing of the technical specifications of the product (Test Lab).
