Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; must remain enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the internship.
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above (verified at time of hire)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate and build relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work on engineering projects related to development of new products, including areas such as human factors engineering, risk management, application of statistics, reliability engineering, design verification, and design validation including customer interaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product sustainment.
  • Perform robust root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions for non-conforming issues in production.
  • Work with a variety of tools including CAD for fixture design, root cause analysis methods, LabView, and validation activities to optimize production, inspection, and quality system processes.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure components and their manufacturing processes meet required standards.
  • Work closely with internal customers from multiple functions, meeting with suppliers frequently, and utilizing both technical and business skills.
  • Ensure development and sustainment of products with the highest quality by working with internal cross-functional teams and external sales team and customers.
  • Evaluate risk, ensure customer user needs are met, and help drive craftsmanship, safety, durability and reliability into the product.
  • Handle complaints and implement design changes, as needed, to address quality issues on the post-market side.
