About The Position

Werner Enterprises offers an 11-week summer internship that provides an opportunity to apply classroom learning in a real-world setting. The paid internship includes dedicated job training, learning opportunities, and experience in a collaborative, inclusive work environment. The position focuses on Intermodal Final Mile operations and includes communication with carriers, shipment tracking, issue resolution, and support for fleet and equipment needs. Interns receive training on Werner’s EDGE TMS, Blume, Tableau, railroad websites, and Skybitz.

Internship development activities include Lessons with Leaders sessions, a mentor program, intern activities, community support events, networking, and a summer project proposal and presentation.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in time management.
• Currently attending an accredited college or university at the junior level and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Logistics/Transportation, Management, or Marketing.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate daily with the Intermodal carrier base and solve problems.
• Track and trace Intermodal dray shipments.
• Collaborate with various Werner departments to resolve issues.
• Assist with Werner fleet and equipment needs.
• Participate in system training, including Werner’s EDGE TMS, Blume, Tableau, railroad websites, and Skybitz.
• Take part in internship development activities, including a summer project proposal and presentation.
