About The Position

The Unloader is a full-time, on-site warehouse role with Werner Final Mile’s White Glove Delivery department, serving Bob’s Discount Furniture Warehouse in Crafton, Pennsylvania. The position unloads furniture from tractor-trailers and stages it for delivery. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., five days per week, at $17.00 per hour. The role also includes assembling products according to manufacturer instructions, supporting delivery teams, assisting with placement of customer deliveries, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively, follow processes and instructions, work professionally with coworkers, customers, supervisors, and drive teams, and meet the physical demands of the position. Employment is contingent on successful completion of pre-employment testing, a background check, drug screening, and a physical exam.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent experience.
At least one year of experience in transportation, logistics, customer product assembly, furniture or appliance delivery, or work with a moving company.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Able to perform the essential functions of the job.
Able to speak English, communicate with coworkers, and read assembly instructions.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications and other operational or client systems.
Able to lift in excess of 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

Unload tractor-trailer loads of furniture and stage items for delivery.
Ensure items are assembled according to manufacturer directions.
Meet the minimum daily assembly output provided by management.
Immediately report defects or damage to parts to management.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace and environment.
Properly dispose of waste accumulated during assembly.
Interact professionally and effectively with drive teams.
Use equipment properly to help ensure the safety of all team members.
Follow delivery processes to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Assist the Delivery Driver with placing delivery items as specified by the customer.
Report customer satisfaction issues to management.
Communicate effectively and work well with coworkers, customers, and supervisors.
Maintain regular and prompt attendance and be able to work a flexible schedule.
Learn to assemble standard wooden dining room chairs.
