About The Position

The Integrated Design Manager is responsible for leading day to day design management activities while applying the structured focus and owner oriented mindset of the Integrated Design Management function. This role builds on traditional Design Manager responsibilities by emphasizing earlier influence, clearer decision making, and tighter integration across disciplines, without changing core project ownership. Integrated Design Managers ensure design remains aligned with project objectives for scope, schedule, cost, and quality by actively managing third party design teams, coordinating internal stakeholders, and maintaining disciplined workflows throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of experience managing commercial project design programs
  • Data center or other technical industry design or construction experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and coordination skills
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, Smartsheets, and design management tools
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel out of home market up to 25 percent, on-site time may vary by project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design management activities from land enablement handoff through turnover to Construction and Operations.
  • Serve as the primary integrator of architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, BMS, and other specialty systems.
  • Manage onboarding and oversight of third‑party design teams, including development and maintenance of design schedules and deliverable tracking.
  • Drive stakeholder review cycles by collecting, consolidating, and facilitating timely resolution of design comments.
  • Enforce design gating, internal ADC project requirements including CDE, CCL, DEC alignment, and approval processes.
  • Early identification, tracking, and resolving design variances and required technical approvals.
  • Maintain project risk registers and coordinate mitigation actions with project teams.
  • Prepare and maintain design metrics, submission tracking, permit tracking, and reporting dashboards.
  • Partner closely with Construction Managers to support coordination, escalation management, and performance certainty.
  • Participate in customer technical discussions and ensure contract requirements are integrated into the design.
  • Promote continuous improvement, clear communication, and accountability across all design participants.
