About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring an Intake Nurse (RN) at its Indianapolis, Indiana location. The role manages the complete medical intake process to support a seamless transition into treatment, performs nursing shift duties, coordinates medication and prescription needs, collaborates with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams, and maintains complete and accurate medical documentation.

The position is based at Avenues Recovery Center at Indianapolis, a 144-bed detox and residential rehabilitation facility. The center provides evidence-based clinical programming, comprehensive medical care, and customized medication-assisted treatment, delivered by a multidisciplinary staff in a remodeled facility with bedrooms, lounges, and recreational areas.

The listed schedules are 10:00 AM–6:30 PM or 3:00–11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Complete at least a one-year diploma program after high school.
• Hold current licensure to practice in the state, or compact licensure with multistate privileges.
• Have addiction-related experience.
• Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
• Be detail-oriented and able to multitask and work efficiently.
• Have a compassionate and dignified character that models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete medical intake process to ensure a seamless transition into treatment.
• Complete nursing shift duties, including taking vital signs, conducting drug screens, and scheduling appointments and lab work.
• Coordinate pharmacy and prescription needs, dispense medication, and maintain accurate medication logs.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Ensure complete, timely, and accurate medical documentation for each client.
