About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring an Intake Nurse (RN) for its Fort Wayne, Indiana location. The nurse manages the complete medical intake process to support clients’ transition into treatment; performs nursing shift duties, including taking vitals, conducting drug screens, and scheduling appointments and lab work; coordinates pharmacy and prescription needs, dispenses medication, and maintains accurate medication logs; collaborates with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care; and ensures complete, timely, and accurate medical documentation for each client.

The position is based at Avenues Recovery Center at Fort Wayne, a 100-bed residential facility offering drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services. The facility describes its setting as having modern premises and an accepting atmosphere, with clinical and medical services provided by a multidisciplinary staff.

Requirements

• Complete a minimum one-year diploma program after high school.
• Hold current licensure to practice in the state, or compact licensure with multistate privileges.
• Have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Be detail-oriented and able to multitask and work efficiently.
• Demonstrate a compassionate and dignified character that models recovery principles.

Responsibilities
