About The Position

The BridgeWay is seeking a dynamic Intake Coordinator to join their team. This role is responsible for managing an efficient admission process for patients. This includes receiving referrals, gathering and verifying necessary information, and completing procedures to schedule patient assessments. The Intake Coordinator will also input statistical information into hospital systems. The BridgeWay has been serving communities in Arkansas and beyond for over 40 years, offering a continuum of services for children, adolescents, and adults with behavioral, emotional, or addictive problems. Their team of board-certified psychiatrists, licensed therapists, nurses, and mental health associates helps individuals reconnect with their families, friends, and employers to lead productive lives. Located in Central Arkansas, The BridgeWay is accredited by The Joint Commission and maintains a charming campus environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field, or high school graduate with a minimum of two years clinical experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • At least 1 year experience with insurance verification/billing preferred.
  • Current CPR and Handle with Care certification (offered onsite to be obtained within three (3) weeks of hire).
  • Excellent professional, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to assess the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients during intake calls
  • Good knowledge of admitting and insurance verification.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate with patients, families, referral sources, community agencies, and staff.
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette is required.
  • Must be able to interact with patients, physicians, families and hospital personnel in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of computer input and skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must have ability to work under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions, multi-task and be detail oriented.
  • Work is of medium demand, requiring heavy telephone and personal contact with patients, referral sources, community agencies and insurance companies.
  • Excellent organizational skills
