About The Position

West Coast Dental is seeking friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented Insurance Verification Representatives to work out of its Insurance Verification Center in Torrance, California. The representative contacts insurance carriers by phone and online to verify patients’ active dental benefits and communicates insurance details to dental offices and patients. The role requires excellent customer service and effective communication skills, an understanding of dental terminology and insurance breakdowns, and the ability to ask structured questions of insurance representatives.

Requirements

• Ability to understand dental terminology and insurance breakdowns.
• Knowledge of HMO and PPO dental insurance plans.
• Ability to verify patient eligibility for dental insurance.
• Ability to understand CDT codes for dental insurance.
• High energy and a positive, friendly attitude.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to provide exemplary customer service.

Nice To Haves

• Previous dental front office or insurance billing experience.

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies by phone and online to obtain insurance benefits and breakdowns.
• Complete Insurance Verification forms and communicate the details to dental offices and patients.
• Contact patients to collect insurance information as needed to complete insurance inquiries.
• Understand dental terms and ask structured questions of insurance representatives.
