About The Position

This is a newly created, cross-functional leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of insurance operations and technology. As our Insurance Operations & IT Manager, you’ll be responsible for the systems, processes, and compliance infrastructure that keep our brokerage running — across Morison Insurance and group of companies. You’ll be the go-to person when our insurance systems need to talk to each other, when a carrier relationship needs attention, when a regulatory change needs to be operationalized, or when a technology decision needs someone who understands what it means for the business. This is a role where you’ll have genuine ownership and real impact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance brokerage operations, IT management, or a combined role
  • Hands-on knowledge of Applied EPIC — including workflows, reporting, policy processing, and system administration
  • A solid understanding of how insurance systems connect — BMS (EPIC), company portals, document management, and automation platforms — and what happens when they don’t
  • Experience managing IT vendors, projects, and support functions
  • Familiarity with carrier/company relations, broker code management, and portal administration
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations and entities
  • Clear, confident communicator — equally comfortable with a technology vendor, a carrier rep, or a leadership team

  • RIBO licence is an asset
  • experience with Pathway, BlueButler, Quandri, or CGI compliance is a definite plus

Responsibilities

  • Own and administer Applied EPIC as our core broker management system — configuration, workflows, user access, data integrity, and reporting
  • Manage Pathway for document management and ensure its integration with EPIC is accurate and efficient
  • Oversee staff access and data flow across insurance company portals; manage broker codes and carrier connectivity including CSIO download standards
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with BlueButler and Quandri; identify and resolve integration gaps across the full platform ecosystem
  • Act as the internal escalation point for cross-system issues and provide leadership with recommendations on systems improvements
  • Lead Morison’s IT department
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives and oversee major IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and new platform implementations
  • Evaluate new technologies and present recommendations to leadership; manage vendor relationships with Applied, BlueButler, Pathway, Quandri, and others
  • Monitor regulatory and industry changes and translate them into operational action (e.g., SAB reforms, coverage requirement changes)
  • Complete CGI compliance reporting (semi-annual and annual); manage brokerage and location additions/removals
  • Maintain internal policies and procedures in line with current insurance regulatory standards
  • Manage E&O, fidelity bond, and cyber liability policies for Morison Insurance and Aurora Underwriting Solutions
  • Coordinate renewals, mid-term changes, and claims activity; maintain accurate coverage records
  • Produce and review mid-month and month-end operational books across entities; ensure accuracy and follow through on corrections
  • Generate expiry, client, activity, mailing list, sales, and cancellation reports; produce ad hoc reports as requested
  • Support operational due diligence and system integration for brokerage acquisitions
  • Coordinate onboarding of acquired brokerages into Morison’s platforms, workflows, and carrier relationships
