About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for BUSINESS FRENCH I FREN 3P05. This is a face-to-face course delivery for the Fall D2 term, starting September 1, 2026. The role involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, including preparation, consultation, marking, grading, and course administration. The successful candidate will work closely with the BUFA course coordinator or the Director of French Studies.

Requirements

Graduate Degree (PhD, PhD abd) in an area of French studies
Record of sustained successful teaching of upper-level business language courses in French at University level
Native or near native fluency in English and French
Commitment to and competence in the use of Standard International French
Evidence of teaching competence in language and Business courses in French at University level
Official student and peer evaluations
Teaching dossier
References
Ability to work alone without immediate direct supervision
Competence in the use of email, Brightspace, internet, common office software (e.g., Word, Excel) and multi-media equipment
Commitment to responsible time management (e.g., course structuring, punctuality for lectures)

Responsibilities

Scheduled contact time with students
Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
Working closely with BUFA course coordinator in multi-section courses or with the Director of French Studies for single-section courses
Careful test, mid-term and final exam preparation
Development of online activities
Student assessment
Prompt and accurate marking
Incorporation of web-based pedagogical techniques, materials and resources
Availability for individual consultation with students (office hours 1.5 hours per section per week required)
Proctoring exams
