About The Position
Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course WRDS 2P16 Communication for Organizations. This is a Winter D3 position for the January 2027 to April 2027 academic term. The course is a lecture format held on Mondays and Thursdays from 15:00 to 16:30. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Compensation is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) or $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Requirements
- MA in English or Writing
- Previous successful experience teaching writing at the university or college level
- Previous or current employment as a writer in the for-profit or not-for-profit sector
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
- Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
