About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for SSAS 5P02 - Methods for Environmental Inquiry for the Fall D2 term. The course covers current research approaches and methods, concepts, and forms of inquiry used by transdisciplinary researchers interested in environmental sustainability. It explores the different ways that issues related to sustainability and the environment are examined and discussed using qualitative and quantitative tools.

Requirements

  • PhD in Environmental Sustainability or a related discipline with a transdisciplinary orientation.
  • Extensive expertise in contemporary methods of environmental inquiry, including research philosophies, research ethics (specifically Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS 2)), research designs, quantitative analysis techniques, qualitative analysis techniques, and transdisciplinary research, as evidenced by research experience, publishing, and applied experiences in relation to sustainability.
  • Specialization or prior teaching experience in fields of study related to the course.
  • Demonstrated success in university teaching.
  • Demonstrated research in fields of study related to the course.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students.
  • Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration.
  • Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.
