About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for ECON 2P42 - ECONOMICS OF PROFESSIONAL SPORT for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group). The compensation for a full course is $15,775.20, based on 390 hours nominally. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab. Requirements

  • A PhD or ABD in Economics or MA in Economics with teaching experience
  • Experience in teaching quantitative research methods
  • Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of Economics
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations)

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students
  • Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
  • Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
