About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course SOCI 3P00 - Introduction to Classical Social Theory. The course delivery is in person on Fridays from 13:30 to 15:30. Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Requirements

  • PhD in Sociology, Critical Criminology or closely related discipline with demonstrated university training in classical social theory.
  • Specialization in classical social theory.
  • Demonstrated successful university teaching experience in classical social theory.
  • Demonstrated research in classical social theory.
  • Demonstrated success teaching large university courses.
  • Cover letter explaining how you meet each of the listed qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students
  • Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.
  • Responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course if employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent.
