Instructor - Nursing (Spring 2027 - Tenure Track)
About The Position
Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) is seeking to fill a full-time, ten-month Instructor position in our School of Health Sciences. The Instructor will teach in an Accreditation Commission for Education Nursing (ACEN)-accredited, Associate degree nursing program. Full-time faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Teaching responsibilities include lecture, lab, and clinical assignments offered during the day, evening, or weekend on the Utica campus with travel to off-campus clinical sites. Other specific assignments will be made based on the individual's academic qualifications and program needs. In addition to teaching, full-time instructors participate in program assessment, curriculum development, student advisement, facilitating student experiences, recruiting for the program, and serve on various School and College Committees. The college is looking for exceptional colleagues with an understanding of the college mission and teaching experience in a comprehensive community college, a focus on student success in a learner-centered environment, and a willingness to use technology to support learning in the academic setting, including online instruction and assessment of student learning outcomes.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing at the time of appointment (or completion within one (1) year)
- Current RN licensure in New York State
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Flexibility in schedule
- Willingness to work and contribute collaboratively
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.
