Instructor - Chemistry (Spring 2027- Tenure Track)
About The Position
Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) is seeking a tenure-track, ten-month Instructor in the School of STEM-Transfer. This position will provide instruction for chemistry courses, including the General Chemistry sequence for science and engineering majors and College Chemistry for students in health professions. Full-time faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Courses may be taught in traditional classroom and online formats. This position may include both daytime and evening classes on our Utica and/or Rome campuses. Other specific assignments will be made based on the individual's academic qualifications and program needs. In addition to teaching, full-time instructors participate in program assessment, curriculum development, student advisement, facilitating student experiences, recruiting for the program, and serve on various School and College Committees. The college is looking for candidates with an understanding of the college mission and teaching experience in a comprehensive community college, a focus on student success in a learner-centered environment, and a willingness to use technology to support learning, including online instruction and assessment.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master's degree in Biology or related discipline
- College teaching experience
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.
