Instructor - Biology (Spring 2027- Tenure Track)
About The Position
Mohawk Valley Community College is seeking to fill two full-time, ten-month Instructor positions in the School of STEM-Transfer. These positions will provide instruction for biology courses, with one position expected to focus on Microbiology. Both positions will include the Introduction to Biology sequence for science majors, and Human Life Science non-majors classes, with the possibility of teaching other classes depending upon the candidate’s background. Full-time faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Courses may be taught in a traditional classroom and online formats. This position may include both daytime and evening classes on our Utica and/or Rome campuses. Other specific assignments will be made based on the individual's academic qualifications and program needs. In addition to teaching, full-time instructors participate in program assessment, curriculum development, student advisement, facilitating student experiences, recruiting for the program and serve on various School and College Committees.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master's degree in Biology or related discipline
- College teaching experience
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.
