About The Position
Brock University is seeking an Instructor for LATI 1F00 - Language (Introductory) for the Fall/Winter term. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation is effective September 1, 2024, with a rate of $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally) or $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture, or equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Requirements
- PhD in Classics
- Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience in Classical languages at the undergraduate university level (letters of references and course/performance evaluations)
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
- Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of Classics
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
- Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
