About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course LABR 2P97, focusing on Work, Labour, and Film. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

  • PhD in LABR or related discipline, or senior doctoral candidates if no qualified applicants
  • Experience in teaching quantitative research methods
  • Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of (discipline)
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations)

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students
  • Preparation of lectures
  • Student consultation
  • Marking and grading
  • Course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
