About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course IADM 2P12 Digital Ethics, which will be taught in a blended format. The course is scheduled for Tuesdays from 16:00-18:00 and Thursdays from 17:00-18:00 during the Winter D3 term, from January to April 2027. The compensation for this position, effective September 1, 2026, is $7,887.59 per half course (nominally 195 hours) or $15,775.20 per full course (nominally 390 hours). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement and include scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, course administration, grade appeals, and handling cases of academic dishonesty.

Requirements

  • MA or PhD in a Humanities or Social Sciences discipline with a focus on ethics in digital media.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the post-secondary level (e.g., through course evaluations or academic references).
  • Familiarity with the features of an online Learning Management System.
  • Evidence of effective course leadership (e.g., working with TAs).
