About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for HLSC 3P21 Winter D3 within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. This position is related to Issues in Canadian Health Policy. The compensation is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities align with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as lecture preparation, student consultation, marking, grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and academic dishonesty cases. Requirements

A PhD in Health Policy or Political Science with a concentration in health policy.
A sound knowledge of the processes of policy formation specifically within Canadian contexts (provincial, federal, etc)
Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience with large class size at the undergraduate university level.

Nice To Haves

Experience with online delivery tools (MS Teams, Brightspace, Lifesize, etc.) is an asset.
Those at ABD or those with a master’s degree combined with relevant experience will be considered if no qualified PhD applications are received after the deadline.
