About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for HLSC 3P21 Winter D3 within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. This position is related to Issues in Canadian Health Policy. The compensation is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities align with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as lecture preparation, student consultation, marking, grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and academic dishonesty cases. Requirements

  • A PhD in Health Policy or Political Science with a concentration in health policy.
  • A sound knowledge of the processes of policy formation specifically within Canadian contexts (provincial, federal, etc)
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience with large class size at the undergraduate university level.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with online delivery tools (MS Teams, Brightspace, Lifesize, etc.) is an asset.
  • Those at ABD or those with a master’s degree combined with relevant experience will be considered if no qualified PhD applications are received after the deadline.
