About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for Half Course HLSC 3P95 for the Winter D3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) and focuses on CARDIAC REHABILITATION PRACTICUM. The compensation for a half course is $7,887.59 effective September 1, 2026, for approximately 195 hours. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. The role involves scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biomedical Sciences Cardiovascular Health/Rehabilitation, or related field
  • Experience with cardiac rehabilitation
  • Experience with basic patient assessment
  • Experience with the role of exercise and medications to manage the rehabilitation process
  • Familiarity with the work and principles of the Brock Functional Inclusive Training (Bfit) Centre
  • Demonstrated success teaching undergraduate university students, in particular supervising experiential learning education
  • Time flexibility to supervise students at Bfit

Nice To Haves

  • ABD or Master's degree combined with relevant experience (considered if no qualified PhD applications)
  • Having taken the course or supervised students at Bfit
  • Experience with online delivery tools (MS Teams, Brightspace, Lifesize, etc.)
