About The Position
Brock University is seeking an Instructor for French II (FREN 1F50) for the Fall/Winter term. This is a full-time position with a mode of delivery that will be face-to-face. The instructor will be responsible for scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of French Studies for this single-section course. The compensation for this role is $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) effective September 1, 2026, and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally) effective September 1, 2026. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Requirements
- Graduate Degree (PhD, PhD abd) in an area of French studies
- Record of sustained successful teaching of second-year language courses in French at a University level
- Native or near native fluency in English and French
- Commitment to and competence in the use of Standard International French
- Evidence of teaching competence in second-year language courses in French at University level
- Official student and peer evaluations

Responsibilities
