About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course ECONOMICS OF ILLICIT DRUGS. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group). The compensation is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) or $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

  • A PhD or ABD in Economics, or MA in Economics, with teaching experience.
  • Experience in teaching quantitative research methods.
  • Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of economics of illicit drugs.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students
  • Preparation of lectures

  • Marking and grading
  • Course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
